Third at State!
Congratulations to EVERYONE! The girls ran an EXCELLENT team race, turning in an 18-second split from 1-5. Michelle Stratton led the way in 40th place and was followed closely by Joanna Brodecki, Elle Metz, Jamie Schertz and Adrienne Schertz. Erica Schertz and Alex Wernette completed an excellent team effort on the day. What a TREMENDOUS effort to end the season. It was truly worthy of all of the hard work, effort and dedication put in by the team throughout the year! The effort was highlighted by two fan busses full of teammates, family and friends of the program. It's always nicer to enjoy a state trophy with lots of great people around! Congratulations to EVERYONE and thank you all for a really fantastic year!

4th place!! WE ARE GOING TO STATE!

Iverson writes:
After a difficult Sectional, the Huskies are again off to the state championships! In perhaps the toughest sectional ever put together, the team turned in another excellent team performance to place fourth in the 20-team field. In a field featuring 10 of the top 13 in the state, qualifying was no forgone conclusion. As a result, the team effort was all the more satisfying. It sets us up nicely for the coming week as well. The meet seems to be wide open and we are certainly prepared for anything! Michelle Stratton led the team with an 18th place (team scoring) finish.

Joanna Brodecki, Adrienne Schertz, and Elle Metz finished 24th, 25th and 27th to form the heart of the team scoring and then Alex Wernette finished strongly in 47th place to round out the scoring. Erica and Jamie Schertz finished 6th and 7th for the team on the day to complete the team effort. What a GREAT meet! We hope to see many of you at the State Championships on Saturday!

Varsity 4th at Wheaton North; Freshmen,

Sophomores, JV Run Very Well

The Wheaton North Invitational last weekend was as stacked with excellent teams as it ever has been in its history. Going into the meet, 10 of the state's top 12 teams were all in attendance. Our varsity team split up and ran seven excellent races to finish a strong 4th in the field. Alex Wernette started the day by finishing 6th in the 7th flight. Erica Schertz finished 4th in the 6th flight, and then Adrienne Schertz and Joanna Brodecki finished 2nd in the 5th and 4th flights, respectively. Elle Metz finished 8th in the 3rd flight and Jamie Schertz was 6th in the 2nd flight. Finally, Michelle Stratton finished off the team effort with an excellent 7th in the Championship Flight. Together, the team scored 35 points to get a solid 4th place effort.

In the Freshman Race, Marly May and Dana Campbell led an extraordinarily strong effort, as the freshman team dominated the race, though we have not yet received official results. Emily Grissom won the sophomore race and led a strong team effort with Christina Rei also placing in the top ten. At the JV level, Emily Swaim and Marissa Speckmann led the team in an excellent effort. Congratulations to EVERYONE on a really tremendous day!

Joanna Brodecki, Elle Metz, Adrienne Schertz and Jamie Schertz finished 7-10 for the team. Alex Wernette and Erica Schertz finished 12th and 16th, respectively to round out the team effort at the varsity level.

In the freshman race, Anne Herbert won and Marly May and Dana Campbell finished 4-5 to lead the team effort. In the JV race, Micki Harring and Emily Swaim finished 2-3 to lead the Huskies to victory. Congratulations to everyone on a really fantastic team performance. Varsity is a Strong 2nd at Woodruff, JV Dominates Open

The varsity scored 117 points to finish a strong 2nd behind Westfield, Indiana HS. They are a nationally-ranked opponent who are the two-time defending state champions. We were led by Michelle Stratton who took 13th on the hot, steamy day. She was followed by Joanna Brodecki in 21st, Jamie and Adrienne Schertz in 26th and 27th, and Erica Schertz in 31st to round out the scoring. Elle Metz and Alex Wernette rounded out the team effort for the Huskies. In the Open race, the team claimed eight of the top ten places and were led by Anne Herbert, Natalie Harrison and Sharon Feltes. That was no small feat in a field of nearly 70 total teams! Congratulations to all on a really great team performance!
